FOX's leadership is exemplified by
its involvement in national projects for the Centers
for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), including
Medicaid Y2K transition support and oversight,
definition and development of the Medicaid
Information Technology Architecture (MITA) for the
21st Century, and HIPAA implementation support in
the following areas:

Development of the
Medicaid HIPAA-Compliant Concept Model (MHCCM)
for state Medicaid programs and other health
plans to use in assessing the impact of HIPAA
and monitoring their HIPAA solutions

Development of
white papers and workshops to assist states and
managed care organizations in implementing their
solutions

Development of
papers addressing small and rural providers
-
Assistance to the
Office for Civil Rights (OCR) in reaching health
plans and consumers to explain the Privacy Rule
FOX also has established a leadership role in
data standard making organizations, Designated Standards
Organizations and working groups such as X12N, Workgroup
for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI)/SNIP, HL7, and
PHDSC. Our key HIPAA staff members serve in important
HIPAA leadership positions, including Co-Chair of the
WEDI Business Issues Workgroup, Co-Chair of the X12N
Healthcare Transaction Coordination and Modeling
Workgroup, Secretary of X12N Healthcare Claims
Workgroup, and Co-Chair of the HL7 Financial Management
Technical Committee.
